Hurray, it's a new year!
I'm glad you made it through the challenges of the previous year. And yes, I'm excited to pick up where I left off writing, to begin a new start.
What’s So Exciting About The New Year?
Just in case you're wondering. Well, the special thing about new years is the new beginning.
New beginnings herald new opportunities. New opportunities to rethink obsolete strategies and assess what's working and what's not working.
New beginnings offer you and me and everyone else a fresh start as a foundation on which to construct all the beautiful plans and lofty academic goals we have set for ourselves.
What's more interesting? It's a free gift to everyone, regardless of their IQ level or academic performance.
What's Your Resolution?
Yes, it's a new year; a new beginning and a fresh start. But how do you make the best use of this season to improve your academic performance?
Well, it's simple: Take action!
Let me prescribe a list of actions to take for you:
Assess yourself: Do a self assessment to determine your areas of strengths and weaknesses, your areas of shortfall in the previous year, and areas where you did well. Make sure to write your findings down.
Seek help: After identifying your areas of weaknesses and shortfall in the previous year, it's important to seek help. Seeking help could be in the form of talking to a senior colleague, watching helpful videos on the topic, or even reading one or two books or materials online that properly deals with the topic.
Write a list of goals: Based on the areas in which you'd love to see more growth, you should write out a list of goals for the new year.
Renew your commitments to growth: Take time to strengthen those valuable friendships, renew productivity enhancing subscriptions and add extra effort to your strength areas in the previous year.
Pray: I'm a firm believer in God, and I strongly believe in the power of prayer to alter situations and bring about supernatural outcomes. Pray often, commit the things you cannot control into the hands of God.
These are my prescriptions for a productive year. I'm looking forward to seeing you outperform the you of last year.
Happy new year!
