In order to help you apply this topic personally, I'll be sharing my own side of the story. I'll share with you on how I leveraged my relationships in College for academic benefit.
Story, story, story.
Once upon a time, I was drinking below average scores like water, and low scores were becoming a part of my academic identity.
After God led me to discuss with my part adviser, I began to see very clearly, the role of purposeful relationships in my academic success.
I saw my classmates in three distinct perspectives:
Teachers: people who could shed more light on grey areas for me based on their own understanding.
Students: people who I could teach based on my own understanding of certain topics.
Partners: people with whom I could reason together, discuss and brainstorm on both difficult and easy topics.
Purposeful relationships in College that yield academic benefit usually fall in these categories.
As a matter of fact, one person can be all of these roles to you and you could be one or all of these roles to others, as the case may be.
