The quote I selected as title for this article is a popular quote from Greek mythology.
And you know, it's one of those quotes that have often fascinated me.
But why has this quote so often been of interest to me? Well, that's why I'm writing this article. Let's dive right in.
I'll start by telling you a story. It's essentially my personal experience with the truth of this quote… how I came to know myself.
Actually, some other version of this quote is attributed to Pythagoras, where it says, “Man know thyself; then thou shalt know the Universe and God.”
My case was the reverse. When I realized my many inadequacies, I sought supernatural insight.
I began to seek God according to the dictates of my Christian faith and I have since walked in a progressively increasing knowledge of myself an my tendencies.

Why’s It So Important?
Knowing myself helped me to understand myself apart from the crowd.
Many times, we're tempted to go with the crowd. Poor us, but it's just us being the social creatures that we are!
We are naturally social creatures. We are naturally wired to go with the flow, to flow with the trend and to blend with the rest of society.
However, the key to living your best life, lies in your understanding of your uniqueness and your ability to maximize your strengths and improve on your weaknesses.

There's so much trouble and anxiety in going with the flow, in copying every other person’s strategy without having a clear understanding of yourself and your uniqueness.
Taking time to understand yourself and your uniqueness would not create a special space for you, but it would also unleash the treasures within you for the rest of us to see.
